Requirements for being a model
The question we get most often is that which concerns the absolute basic requirements for being a model able to think of a career as a model. And that ” everyone tells me I’m cute, I should try to make the model … but what are the requirements for being a model professional? “. We met Federico Superina, director of scouting at The Lab Models in Milan (I know him from a life and a life doing this job) and we started a conversation about the work of their model with the above question.
What are the requirements to be a model? Basic requirements relate primarily a discourse of measurements: height, bust, waist, hips. The experience is relative. If a girl has not done anything as a model and at 20 decided he wanted groped this career, provided it has certain physical requirements, can safely begin, even at 20 years old.
Ideally, a girl began to think of work as a model when it is a bit ‘younger, around 16, 17 years. It is a job that you can do it part-time alongside their studies. But it begins to accumulate experience, and when will 18/19 years old, and maybe will have finished high school, will already have a basic and an experience that will allow them to work immediately.
There are two types of models, and the ‘measures’ are determined based on the type of model we’re talking about. There are models commercial models and editorials . Commercial models are the ones who make the advertising, editorials are those we see on fashion magazines, and fashion shows. The girls’ commercial ‘have a longer working life, rather it is more likely to begin to work well when they are a bit’ more advanced in years and they go on too – if you keep in shape – up to 29/30 years with no problems .
For the traditional business models, very classic: 90-60-90. Then if it is 89 or 91, it changes little. For the models that need to instead go to the catwalk, are usually required maximum dimensions of 88cm. It seems little, but models are usually structured in a certain way. We are not the agencies that impose these measures, but the designers, for a variety of reasons.
